Virtual Awards Video

Join us in celebrating our valued sponsors & volunteers who help advance our Mission,

Executive Director
Bernadette Mellott

Our Volunteers are the heart and soul of this organization.

They advance our Mission. Without them, we could not provide the services to our residents which assure both their safety and quality of life in assisted living settings.  The kindness and support which the volunteers demonstrate every day is remarkable.

Thank you for taking the time to view our video and celebrating our volunteers especially our three award recipients.  We are thankful for your ongoing support of our Mission.

Ombudsman of the Year

Diana Paradise

For Diana Paradise,
"working on behalf of the senior population is deeply rewarding and personally gratifying making volunteering at OSSMC a natural fit!"

Over the years, Paradise has devoted herself to advocating for the vulnerable and unrepresented as an educator, a music therapist in senior residential facilities in San Mateo County, and as the daughter of her
101-year-old mother.
Distinguished Service Award

Greg Giguiere

Greg Giguiere’s job as an elder abuse investigator is to protect the rights of the elderly from neglect, physical abuse, or financial abuse and help in the prosecution of criminal or civil cases. Fora recent complex case, Giguiere will be awarded the Distinguished Service Award for going above and beyond in resolving a case with help from ombudsman DianaParadise.
